Market Square of Cattolica is the business heart of the city. On this square is the Covered Market Hall of Cattolica, the first covered market to be built throughout the province of Rimini, which was designed in 1920 and completed in 1926. At the present time this historic place dedicated to the trade has not changed destination; renovated enhancing the beautiful polychrome stuccos that decorate the outside with the original plaster signs, decorated with the emblem of the “Queen of the Adriatic”, the Covered Market offers a frame of ‘exception to the food “luxury boutique” found inside; from fruits and vegetables to fresh fish, guarded by the huge triton at the entrance. It’s very nice to visit this place, made of a lively everyday life and cordial exchanges. Market Square without any doubt brings back to one of the dimensions of the most authentic Cattolica. On the square are also offices, shops and the Snaporaz Salon, a small stylish Auditorium that all year round offers theater performances, film screenings, concerts of various music types. To remain in this atmosphere of familiarity and veracity, you can walk a few steps towards the nearby Via Giordano Bruno. Here is another historic landmark in Cattolica: the small square known as Piazza Della Gina, where once the goods coming from the sea were unloaded; here we find the Trattoria Gina (Via G. Bruno 31, phone 0541 962 954) a small restaurant with traditional cuisine. By entering here, it seems to take a step back in the past and remain suspended in a rare and tasty planet. In this square in the summer you can see the most diverse performances, from puppetry to jazz, all in a setting that seems to defend the dreams of all visitors.
