Roosevelt Square in Cattolica is one of the most significant places of the city. A green and airy square, decorated with a beautiful fountain, which overlooks the elegant City Hall in Cattolica. Built in 1914 and recently restored, the Renaissance-styled City Hall was designed by the Engineer Marcovigi and later restructured by Engineer Pasquale Pensa; when the construction began, the area was virtually deserted, but the logistic intuition found quickly confirms with the development of the urban area in Cattolica, just around Roosevelt Square. Originally the City Hall was full of ornaments and even mosaics, now extinct. The whole square is both monumental and lively, thanks to the harmony between the elegance of the buildings that surround it and the beautiful tree-lined avenue. The water jets of the central fountain offers in the evening a particularly attractive atmosphere. In May, every year, Roosevelt Square is closed to the traffic during the Festival of Flowers, a fragrant display of the most diverse types of plants and flowers that flood the square for a few days transforming it into a garden of enchantment. To keep on thinking of being in a fairy tale, we can go for breakfast or a drink in the nearby Pasticceria Staccoli (Via XX Settembre 1, phone 0541 961 861), a small blaze of sweets and savory to indulge also the most refined tastes! For a more intimate dinner, at the corner of the square is the restaurant Bulen Osteria di Riviera (Piazza Roosevelt 1, phone 0541 961190 / 198) immersed in a refined atmosphere, in a charming Liberty style restaurant from where you can admire the water jets of the fountain.
