The Antiquarium collects a large number of archaeological finds from the Roman era, between the second century BC and fourth centuries AD. These archaeological finds, found in the hinterland of Cesenatico, prove the intense daily activities of the ancient settlements of these areas. In particular, the visible archaeological finds are related to a small Roman settlement identified with the Tabernae Cossutianae, which came from the Republican period. The exhibition design, with its exhaustive and illustrative apparatus, tells about the various daily activities, but about the urban planning and construction materials of Roman houses. So, in the collection, we find sections dedicated to this area plant,  to the road system, to the housing and construction materials with examples of brick and tiles, et cetera. Finally, you could also find anthropological and cultural descriptions related to burials and funeral rites. There is also a hall dedicated to two destroyed fortifications: the Rock and the Pretoria Tower, that have characterized the profile of Cesenatico for centuries. The Antiquarium is located in Via Armellini 18, just in the historic center, the entrace is not free (the ticket for the Maritime Museum and the Trabaccolo transport costs 2 €) remember that the opening hours could vary during the year. For more detailed information, contact the Antiquarium by calling 0547 79 205.
