The San Giacomo Churchoverlooks the harbor of Cesenatico next to the Maritime Museum. This Church contains a small treasure of sacred art. The original San Giacomo Churchwas built in 1324 and later, in the sixteenth century, was rebuilt and lastly it undergoes further radical measures in 1763 by the architect Pietro Borboni.
Inside there are two valuable paintings attributed to the painter Guido Cagnacci who came from Santarcangelo, including the beautiful San Giuseppe, best known copy of a painting created for the Confraternity of San Giuseppe of Forli. This painting was recently restored by Adele Pompili, who confirmed the seventeenth-century dating of this painting and the quality of the pigments used that are similar to those commonly used by Guido Cagnacci, supporting thus the hypothesis that the author of these masterpieces is properly him. A few steps from San Giancomo Church, on both sides of the harbor, there are many typical seafood restaurants, such as the Osteria del Gran Fritto or Titon an historical restaurant to visit when you are really hungry! Once you try it, you will want to come back again to try everything that you are not able to taste during the first visit. Finally, to digest the eaten, a nice ride on the waterfront is really perfect!
