The bell tower of the Church of Sant’Andrea of Fiorenzuola di Focara is all that remains of the ancient Church of Sant’Andrea, that went permanently destroyed by the violent earthquake of 1916. The first records that show the presence of the church, are dated back to 1144, but the church was rebuilt in 1825. Inside there were five altars dedicated to as many saints and were surrounded by works of exquisite workmanship, some of which are now in Pesaro. Here was also kept a beautiful organ of Callido school, of year 1825. A major peculiarity is the fact that until 1867, when the present cemetery was built, priests, members of confraternities and children were buried in the floor. During the Middle Ages it seems it has been used as an armory or place of defense.
