The Levante Park in Cesenatico, along with Ponente Park, is part of the project Coastal Oasis of the 4 Municipalities, which aims to preserve and enhance the sea in winter, with a 9 km long beach, during the period in which returns to its true wilderness, through the creation of nature observers with a curling station for the study on migration, the placement of hundreds of nesting boxes and feeders, two observation towers, a remodeling complex work of Rubicone River main course and the landscape embellishment until its mouth. The Coastal Oasis of the 4 Municipalities involves the cities of Cesenatico, Gatteo, San Mauro Pascoli and Savignano; the area extends north from the Pine Forest of Zadina Cesenatico to the extreme limit of the coastal city of St. Mauro Mare. The upstream area is bordered from the old state highway, and currently consists of 126 hectares, but it is further expanding. The Coastal Oasis of the 4 Municipalities is characterized by the Pine Forest and the two largest parks in Cesenatico, Levante Park and Ponente Park. The Levante Park has an area of 40 hectares, which provides a habitat for pines, poplars, alders, oaks and shrubs among the thick grass that covers the area, moreover in its extension, there are two small lakes where mute swans, mandarin ducks and moorhens live, not at all difficult to meet. An ideal place for birdwatchers, the park is also equipped with play areas for children and picnic areas that break the network of trails practicable by bicycle or on foot. On the Inside there is also an old farmhouse, which in summer hosts a Seniors Centre with its variety of recreational activities. The Ponente Park in Cesenatico is situated on the opposite coast, and its dimensions are a little smaller. Its 13 hectares are almost completely lined with trees and on the inside of Ponente Park there are two soccer fields, a picnic area and several playgrounds for children. Even here in the autumn you can find rare species of birds, walking along the trails where you can make excursions by bike or on foot, enjoying the delicate charm of this maritime plain.
