The Town Hall of Cesenatico is another emblem of the intellectual brilliance of this town. The original building was an imposing nineteenth century building, surmounted by a tall tower, located on the west shore of the Port Channel by Leonardo. During the bombing of World War II, it was almost completely destroyed and in 1960 they proceeded to build the new City Hall, accepting the project of famous architect and designer Giò Ponti, in those years also active in Forlì. Needless to say, this decision caused a large and sometimes acrimonious debate among the citizens, who would have preferred the reconstruction of the Town Hall as it was originally. The choice of the project by Giò Ponti, however, clearly indicates the opening of Cesenatico to the contemporary, as it is already evident with the buildings AGIP Holiday Camp and the Skyscraper.
